For this scene, Koffeecup provided me with a model made by Ergoni on Sketchfab and asked me to create a nice-looking scene in Unreal Engine 5.
They especially required shaders for the water and the foliage. It was made for an art test for a generalist technical artist position.
The final scene consists of:
- Minor adjustment to where the larger plants' stems meet the leaves.
- Underwater geometry and a circular mesh around the scene to hide anything below.
- Water surface textures (followed the patterns of the original textures by redrawing them)
- Wind-like effect on the plants
- Water surface animated foam + pattern
- Water caustics
- Snail tremble
- Ghosts in the background
- Fireflies
- Slight bloom
